USCIS Extends Validity of Conditional Resident Green Cards for 48 Months

By January 24, 2023October 5th, 2023No Comments

USCIS announced that it will be extending the validity of conditional green cards yet again for permanent residents with pending Forms I-751 or I-829. This time, the automatic extension is for 48 months. This automatic extension will become effective January 25th, 2023 for pending I-751’s and already went into effect on January 11th, 2023 for pending I-829’s. What this means is that anyone who timely filed Form I-751 or I-829 will now have their green card validity extended for 48 months beyond the expiration date of their conditional green card. This accommodation has been made due to the extremely lengthy delays in processing these cases. For more information or questions about your specific case, please contact us.
